Hard Drive Recovery

Hard drives are the long term memory of your computer. They contain mechanical parts which can fail over time. When this happens Helping Hand PC can try to recover information from the drive. If necessary, we can send it out for professional data recovery.

A good backup system should always be your first line of defense, but when disaster strikes, we can help get your computer back up and running quickly.

What happened?

In order to access data, your hard drive spins at incredible speeds. With any mechanical device, parts can fail over time. In most cases the read/write head of the drive comes into contact with the disk platter itself (imagine taking the needle of a record player and slamming it down on the record), or bearings inside the drive motor fail.

What does Helping Hand PC do?

One of our technicians will remove your hard drive from your computer and attempt to recover as much data as possible using special equipment in our office, copying it to a secure, reliable device. When a hard drive crashes some data loss is likely to occur, but we strive to keep loss to a minimum. If the damage is beyond our in-shop capabilities to repair we can ship the device to a service provider that specializes in recovering data from failed devices.

What can I do?

The best thing you can do is be proactive and be prepared. Just like it's not a good idea to drive without a spare tire, it is never a good idea to work without backups. Unfortunately like that spare tire, many people don't realize how important backups are until that emergency situation arrives. When you have a reliable backup system in place, should a device fail you can easily be back up and running quickly!

Helping Hand PC offers a remote backup service providing you with reliable incremental off-site data backups. Contact us if you have any questions about our backup services.

Stay In Control

We understand that your company depends on your technology. Functionality, performance, and security are business-critical.

The five most common frustrations business owners have with technology include:

  • 1. Email or work-order delivery     systems down
  • 2. Client database unavailable
  • 3. Spyware and unauthorized access     issues
  • 4. Banned software (games and     file-sharing) monopolizing     resources
  • 5. Predictable hardware failures

The team at Helping Hand PC can help you keep control over your technology and avoid these problems.
